Perhaps the moment of greatest trepidation on our recent 24 day trip to India was exiting customs at Delhi Airport around midnight and wondering what we would do if our driver was not there. The worries were groundless. Our driver, Amit, was there to greet us. My husband has been to India before, but this was my first time. It was rendered trouble-free by the excellent planning, responsiveness and advice of Bunty, and the terrific services of Amit, a safe and patient driver in a country where by US and UK standards, traffic is crazy. He was however, far more than our driver. He looked out for us. He made great suggestions on itineraries, guides and restaurants. He kept us informed about historical, cultural and local issues. He was invaluable in aiding me with an independent train trip to Varanasi and stayed in touch by phone in case I needed assistance. His English is very good and he is a comfortable and reassuring person to travel with. We are two students who planned a trip to India for a month travelling from Delhi all the way south to Kerala. My wife, daughter and I visited the Golden Triangle, Delhi, Agra and Jaipur in of 2009. We had read the good reviews of Bunty online and decided to give him a try. Bunty handled the transportation arrangements for us and provided our driver, Avtar. From the moment of our first contact via email, Bunty was quick to respond, and gave us suggestions regarding our itinerary, which proved very helpful since we did not fully understand the time required to visit certain areas. Bunty reminded us shortly before our arrival that Avtar would be waiting for us at our arrival at the airport in Delhi. Thank goodness Avtar was there as promised, with a smile on his face, because the scene was chaos. There is one thing most important in a driver in India, as in no other country I've been. They must be constantly vigilant for wrong way drivers, livestock, motorcycles, potholes and numerous other obstacles. It is a job that requires inordinate patience and awareness at all times. Avtar never lost his patience and always seemed to anticipate trouble before it arose. As the days passed we became much more thankful that Bunty had provided us such a great driver, and such a nice person. Avtar drove us in a Toyota minivan, which was perfect for us and our luggage. He was completely knowledgeable of the areas we visited, and kept us informed of important sites at every step along the way. Whenever we wanted to stop to eat or use other facilities, he always found a clean and pleasant place to do so. In every instance Avtar was always waiting for us at the pre-arranged time, ready to go where we wanted, and offering suggestions on the best places to visit. One particular highlight was the Taj Mahal, where he arranged a knowledgeable guide. Our guide there really knew the ropes and kept us clear of the hustlers and beggars. He also took some amazing pictures of my family with the Taj Mahal as the backdrop. These photos were the best of our trip to the Philippines, China and India. What a great resource! Before we even arrived in India, Bunty helped us plan our travel itinerary, making sure we were able to visit our entire list of 'must see' sights and suggesting a number of others. He provided great travel advice, worked within our budget, and lined up hotels and flexible stop-over points. (You never know when you'll fall in love with a place and want to stay an extra day or two!). Bunty lined us up with a knowledgeable driver - his brother, Amit - who was invaluable in helping us enjoy all that India has to offer (our 2 year old still talks about Amit!). And throughout our trip, Bunty remained in contact with us regularly to ensure that all of our needs were being met. It's a great feeling knowing that you have someone like Bunty handling all of the logistical details of travel so you can concentrate fully on enjoying India's non-stop feast for the senses. Manohar was a great driver. He was always willing to meet us for early starts, was always on time, knew the attractions and best of all had many suggestions for hotels. We also appreciated that it didn't bother him if we wanted to see a few options for hotels or places to eat. We always felt safe with his driving, we always made good time, and he was always willing to stop if we saw something interesting. A great trip!
WITHOUT HESITATION, WE RECOMMEND INDIA PRIVATE DRIVER
In October/2009, we spent 25 days travelling around Rajasthan. For convenience, we wanted to travel with a private driver. Fortunately, I stumbled across recommendations for "Satvinder Singh (also known as Bunty Singh) who trades as India Private Driver". Thank you Bunty, we are so glad we found you! Prior to even making a booking with Bunty I felt very comfortable; he seemed very sincere, genuine and honest and eagre to deliver a high quality service to his customers. Emails were answered promptly and questions were answered clearly. Most importantly, his quoted price clearly stated inclusions (eg: A/C vehicle (specified type), driver (plus driver's allowance for accommodation and meals), border taxes, road tolls, parking and petrol). It is very important to know there are no "hidden extras"! From what I have read, Bunty is not the cheapest, but he is certainly not the most expensive either! As the saying goes "you get what you pay for"! We designed our own Itinerary and booked all accommodation separately (we wanted to stay at specific hotels). For trips starting in Delhi, Bunty doesn't require an "up front" deposit. Our trip started in Udaipur (some 700km from Delhi) so he asked us to send a deposit (one quarter of total price) 4-6 weeks before departure. We happily obliged (very easy process with Western Union) and thought this most reasonable. Immediately Bunty received the deposit he acknowledged receipt (nice to know it hadn't disappeared into the ether)! The day before our trip commenced, Amit (our driver and also Bunty's brother) phoned our Udaipur hotel to confirm he would pick us up the following morning at "x" time. What service! It also meant a restful nights sleep, knowing we would be collected, as intended, the following morning. Amit arrived punctually; actually he was early (all part of the prompt service). We were met with warm welcoming smiles and from the first hand-shake we felt confident we were in safe hands and that we were going to have a great trip. Amit was our driver for 19 days and he was a pleasure to travel with (it felt like we were travelling with a close friend rather than a "driver" / "customer" relationship). Travelling days were generally 3-4 hours but the time passed quickly as we were always engrossed in conversation. In cities where we stayed multiple days, Amit always assured us that he was available for us to call on him at any time. Amit was always punctual and the car was always spotlessly clean (there were a couple of minor mechanical issues (couldn't have been avoided) and we happily assisted Amit to ensure he got them resolved). When travelling, we are not avid shopper; Amit respected our wishes that we didn't want to visit every shopping emporium along the way. There were a couple of cities where we wanted to make specific purchases and Amit happily assisted with these transactions. We enjoyed several enjoyable meals together; though respecting Amit possibly didn't want to eat with us every single night! We felt safe with Amit's driving ability; he certainly navigated the chaos of busy Indian cities with ease! Overall, the service we received (both the booking process and once in India) was exceptional and accordingly we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending India Private Driver. Bunty has a fleet of drivers working for him, but from the glowing reports from his many satisfied customers, it appears each of his drivers are equally as highly recommended as Amit.

It was my first trip to India, I was travelling alone and felt quite apprehensive about being hassled on my arrival in Delhi and not knowing who to trust. Some good friends of mine have booked their travel with Bunty several times and recommended him to me. I'm so glad that they did. Bunty suggested an itinerary that covered most of the cities I wanted to see. He organised my hotels for me, was very prompt with his emails and answered my many questions patiently. When I arrived in India I was met by Amit who is such a good and careful driver that I always felt safe on roads where you must expect the unexpected. On April 2016 me and my wife went to India with 3 friends. In a first moment we were planning to travel throughout Rajasthan by train but then we changed our minds and decided to hire a native driver. Having a native driver made us enjoy our time in a better way, going straight to the places we would like to visit, helping us with those who didn't spoke english, suggesting tour guides when it was necessary, even saying the places where a guide wasn't needed.
